March for Science

Washington D. C. April 22, 2017.

Even the cool rainy weather could not dampen spirits on this Earth Day anniversary. A large crowd of advocates for science gathered at the Washington Monument. Our group of 8 joined the throng. An assembly of speakers addressed the crowd, including Bill Nye, the Science Guy. Nye spoke to sell out audiences at Frederick’s Speaker series for 2 consecutive nights. Jane and me attended his talk at the Wineberg Center on Thursday night.

All participants had to pass through security screening. The mood was upbeat even with the long wait.

Best costume award goes to she fly in the left corner.

Our wet stalwart group passed up the march down Constitution Avenue in favor of warmth, refreshments and lunch.
